If you already own First Things First 2.0, Version 2.1 is a free maintenance update (with a couple neat extra features tossed in). If you own an FTF version earlier than 2.0, please call 503-246-6200 to order your upgrade to version 2.1. (To find out what version of FTF you have, click the balloon icon in the lower left hand corner of the main FTF window.)
To install your update:
(Do not attempt this update unless you are sure you have version 2.0 OR LATER of First Things First. If you have an earlier version, you will not be able to run First Things First in anything other than demo mode and the "My FTF Agenda" file that stores your information will be converted to a format that is not compatible with First Things First versions earlier than 2.1.)
1. Locate the older version of FTF and throw it away (you will not lose any of the items you have entered because they are stored in a file separate from FTF in the System Folder called "My FTF Agenda").
2. Make a backup of your "My FTF Agenda" file before proceeding.
3. Move (or copy) First Things First 2.1 onto the icon of your System Folder.
4. Reboot your machine.
If you need to reconcile two FTF files on two different machines you use, or to export and import text data, you will want to download the new version of the FTF File Utility (located in the MacSys forum, library 6 called "FTUTIL.SEA") as previous versions are not compatible with First Things First 2.1.
